The “NG Church” (Dutch Reformed Church / Nederduitse Gereformeerde Kerk) – a declared national monument – was completed in 1847. By the end of 1883 two wings were added, giving the church its present Greek cross shape. The teak pulpit, the oak benches and the extensive wooden panelling adds to the beauty of the church.
Visitors are most welcome. The Church is open every day from 9:00 to 16:30 Entrance is free. The Church and Hall are also available for special occasions. Our services (Sundays at 9:30) are in Afrikaans.

Fred and Lucille May founded the first Shofar congregation in Stellenbosch (South Africa) in 1992. Since then the ministry has been favoured with strong growth. It has transitioned from a student-oriented fellowship to a multi-generational church. It has also progressed from being a predominantly white, to a multicultural church which now is spread across many cities and its presence extends even beyond the continent of Africa.
