Bastille Festival 2019

Celebrate the 26th Bastille Day Festival 2019 in Franschhoek on the 13th & 14th July.

Locals and visitors to the valley will be celebrating centuries-old French Huguenot heritage at its annual Bastille Festival. So don your red, white and blue regalia and come and indulge in a feast of delectable food, the finest wines and all the fun that is on through the festival.

The focal point at the Bastille Festival 2019, as always, will be the Food and Wine Marquee, where Franschhoek’s award winning and famous wine estates are offering their finest wines for you to taste and enjoy. Also on offer are mouth watering dishes from Franschhoek’s widely acclaimed chefs. And of course their will be live music in the Bastille Marquee to liven things up.

As usual there will be the sporting component at Bastille with the hustle and bustle of the Boules Competition which anyone can enter, run as always by the SPCA.

Along with all the above there will be the Farmers’ Market, Craft Stalls, children’s activities, and the minstrels parade. So come and enjoy the fun at Bastille Day 2018 in Franschhoek.

 

Food & Wine Marquee

Visitors can look forward to sipping, sampling and savouring some of the Franschhoek’s superb wines in the comfort of the Food and Wine Marquee, situated at the Huguenot Monument – the perfect venue, with exquisite mountain backdrops, and ample parking within walking distance. Treat your taste buds to a gastronomic feast with delicious fare from some of Franschhoek’s well-known restaurants.

Entrance tickets cost to be announced, which will include a complimentary tasting glass, a booklet of tasting coupons as well as a wine voucher to be used on the day. Additional coupons can be purchased on the day.

Tickets are now available for purchase online.

Tickets to the Food & Wine Marquee cost R395 per person, and include entry, a complimentary tasting glass, wine tasting coupons and a R20 voucher which is redeemable on the day. Additional coupons can be purchased on the day. Children under 18 enter for free.

The festival times are 11am to 5pm on the Saturday, and 11am to 3pm on the Sunday. Sunday’s festivities are ideally suited for the whole family with ample fun kiddies’ entertainment for the young ones.
